Reg E. Cathey Has Died

Reg E. Cathey, the Emmy Award-winning actor, has died at 59. Born in Huntsville, Alabama, Cathey went on to study theater at both the University of Michigan and the Yale School of Drama.

His television work included roles on Oz, House of Cards (where his portrayal of Freddy Hayes won him the Emmy), The Wire, Star Trek: The Next Generation, and Grimm. His most recent performances were in Outcast on Cinemax and The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks on HBO.

Cathey’s work in films includes Born on the Fourth of July, What About Bob?, Clear and Present Danger, Seven, Tank Girl, American Psycho, and 2015 version of The Fantastic Four.

He will be missed.
